Whether you’re a seasoned player or just picking up a bat for the first time, we’re thrilled to have you here!

Our club is all about fun, friendly competition, and the shared love of table tennis.

Here, you’ll find a supportive community, regular meetups, coaching sessions, and exciting tournaments that keep the energy high and the rallies even higher. We believe in creating an environment where everyone can improve their skills, make new friends, and enjoy the game at their own pace.

So grab your bat, bring your best game face, and let’s make some unforgettable memories—one spin shot at a time!

Who we are.

We’re a friendly, welcoming bunch who get together three times a week; play serious Table Tennis sometimes and yes, sometimes the Table Tennis is not so good. But one thing’s for sure—we always have a blast! Good vibes, good company, and a space where everyone fits in, whether you’re a pro or a complete beginner.

Behind the scenes? Oh, we get a lot done.

We were “born” late in 2020, and by 2022, Table Tennis Australia named us the Australian Club of the Year; the only Tasmanian Table Tennis Club to ever have won this accolade. We’re now proud to be the third largest Table Tennis club in Tasmania.

We like starting big things—and seeing them through. In 2022, we launched the Latrobe Kentish Primary Schools Table Tennis Championships, which quickly became a hit with schools and parents alike. And now? In 2025, it’s going state-wide, rebranded as the Tasmanian Primary Schools Table Tennis Championship. And  yes… we’re still just getting started. Watch this space, Australia!

So come give us a shot—you might just love it here. We think you will.

Where do we play?

PSTTC’s home is the Stadium at the Banksia Centre, Pitcairn Street, Port Sorell.

When do we play?

* PSTTC’s playing times, or sessions, are:

• Social play on Mondays 2.00 – 4.30pm
except public holidays

• Roster on Wednesday 6.00 – 9.00pm

• Social and mini competitions
on Saturdays 1 .00 - 3.00pm

(*Plse note that these times are subject to change, especially during winter)

We also have an inter-club meeting on the first Saturday of each month, usually March – November, where we join our like-minded friends from other clubs. These Scrambles alternate between Port Sorell and Deloraine.

What does it cost?

Each session costs: $5 per adult; $2 for any child under 18; or $8 per couple.

You can pay using cash, EFT, or by using our own voucher system. PSTTC is also a Ticket to Play and Ticket to Wellbeing provider so you can use those to cover membership and session fees.

Membership

After 3 visits, you need to decide if you would like to be a member of the club. To join PSTTC you need to pay an annual membership fee. This is $35 for social/recreational  players, or $70 for those who wish to play in our Wednesday night roster, or any other Table Tennis Australia competition. This fee is the Table Tennis Tasmania/Table Tennis Australia affiliation fee and with it comes several benefits (e.g. insurance and reciprocity).

What equipment do I need?

Balls are provided by PSTTC, and bats are available, but in the long run, it is better to own your own bat. The club can advise on, and even sell, suitable bats to you.

What do I wear?

The Banksia Centre asks that street shoes are not worn on the Stadium floor, so make sure your footwear is appropriate for the Stadium floor (non-marking sports shoes). Comfy clothes are a good idea, too. PSTTC has a club shirt that many club members wear, especially during roster nights and our monthly scrambles.

What do I need to do?

If you wish to contact us before your first session you are welcome to do so using the contact details provided. Or, simply turn up; someone will always be available to welcome you, show you the ropes, and get you started.

Is coaching available?

PSTTC has a number of Table Tennis Tasmania/Table Tennis Australia recognised coaches. They may not always be available but you can always arrange a coaching session. The club also has a robot trainer available for use.
